Application
Before application, the surface of the building has to be thoroughly prepared to create a long lasting bond with the render coating.
Anchor Coatings has a range of pre-application products specifically formulated to be compatible with our coatings, from sealants and surface stabilisers, to biocides and specialist cleaning fluids.
Over the years we have also developed a five stage preparation and application programme which is strictly followed.

PART 1. PREPARATION
For the primer coating to make firm and lasting bond with the surface, all dirt, mould, algae, soot, loose paint and damaged substrate have to be removed by light power washing and / or wire brushing.
At this stage other problems can be identified and treated spraying powerful biocides on areas contaminated with algae and fungal growths, or using solvents to clean up patches marked by oil or grease and removal of effervescences.
PART 2. MASKING
To protect surfaces not required for treatment and prevent any dust or dirt entering your home, all doors and windows are masked off with heavy-duty paper.
Great care is also taken to not to damage surrounding areas, so plants, bushes and lawns are carefully covered with polythene tarpaulin or dustsheets.
PART 3. RESTORATION
Cracked bricks, blown pebbledash or crumbling render can all cause problems at a later date.
Cracks are ground out and filled with a polymer modified cement to ensure a perfect bond and great care is taken towards achieving an invisible repair. Areas of loose pebbledash or render are removed and replaced. Slight defects can be made good by applying a slush coat or bagwash which is applied with a mixture of sand, cement and latex to provide good adhesion for the substrate.
PART 4. PRIMING
Circumstances vary depending on the existing surface. Friable concrete, previously painted surfaces and substrates of uneven porosity, require our specially formulated stabilising solution before the primer coat is applied for good adhesion.
When a primer coat is required, Permashield Primer is applied smoothly and evenly to every inch of the surface by roller, brush or airless spray. This Primer coat has been specially formulated using Pliolite Resin; and creates an incredibly powerful and long lasting chemical bond with the top coating.
Where previously painted surfaces are sound, a primer coat may not be required.
* Pliolite is a registerred trade Mark of the Goodyear Tyre CO., Ohio, USA.
PART 5. APPLICATION
After the thorough preparation work has been completed and inspected, the final coat is ready to be applied.
Specialist heavy-duty spray equipment is used for both the smooth and textured coatings. Not only does this make the whole process remarkably quick, but it also ensures a uniform colour and finish. And because this final coat is nearly 20 times thicker than normal paint, it can cover many surface defects.
After the application the site will be cleaned and tidied to the client's satisfaction.
